According to a recent statistic, as many as 10 million people in the US suffer from Fibromyalgia. This new age disorder is a chronic musculoskeletal condition. It is characterized by persistent pain, fatigue, and tenderness in isolated areas which can also create depression. Symptoms vary from person to person but almost always have a direct effect on the patient’s quality of life.
How is Fibromyalgia treated?
Fibromyalgia is the second most common musculoskeletal disorder after osteoarthritis. This disorder has no specific treatment route that is 100% effective. Many patients find themselves on large combinations of medication. These medicines can only help combat symptoms but often find themselves suffering unwanted side effects.
Does Cupping help for Fibromyalgia?
Cupping therapy is an age-old technique used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is used to treat a variety of ailments, including pain associated with fibromyalgia. This ancient technique includes suctioning heated glass cups which are then applied to the body.
The heat creates a vacuum which releases toxins and clears any blockages. It also activates the lymphatic system. This is important to help fight infections from viruses or bacteria.
Bellabaci Cupping therapy allows patients to get the relief they need naturally while posing zero to little risks or side effects compared to more traditional medicinal treatments.
Independent studies completed prove that the natural treatment of cupping therapy is just as, if not more, effective compared to more traditional treatments. The most recent study regarding the effect of cupping therapy on fibromyalgia patients was performed in 2011, according to Mayo Clinic.
The study was performed in Beijing with 30 consecutive patients suffering from symptoms of fibromyalgia, including generalized chronic pain. The patients received a traditional cupping treatment every day for 15 days and the intensity of their symptoms prior to starting treatment and 5, 10, 15 days, and 2 weeks following the final treatment. Findings concluded that medicinal cupping therapy did in fact, relieve symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.
Why Does Cupping help for Fibromyalgia?
The Bellabaci Cupping system allows an effective home treatment. These cups are also used and recommended by therapists worldwide. Maintenance treatments at home add a lot of value to the relief felt and results achieved.
The negative pressure from the cup and massage technique assists to produce the natural cortisone. This helps to relieve inflammation and pain. Clients immediately feel “released” and more positive after cupping therapy. This is partly due to the increased Serotonin (happy hormone) levels from improved blood circulation to the brain.

6 weeks ago I had a hip replacement. I have completely recovered, except for a persistent pain on the outside of my hip area. Since I already have the bellabaci cups, I thought I would give them a try. Not only has the pain subsided, but I also feel better and have more energy. These are great for so many applications!
