Do you want to be happier? Are you looking for ways to stay physically and mentally healthy during this transition into our “new normal”? Below are a few helpful tips that can help reframe and guide you into a state of wellbeing while hopefully accessing hope and positivity for the future.
- Accept yourself as you are right now
We are in unprecedented times, and that means as individuals, we’re experiencing feelings, emotions and situations that are new to us. Feelings of despair, claustrophobia, anxiety, loss, uncertainty all come to mind. As do hope, resilience, patience and strength. But in all this, take some time out to meet the “new you” or “old you”. Take this time to accept who you are now.
- Prioritize your wellbeing
Never before have we urged on the side of caution as much as we are doing today, to protect those around us. While our health is at the centre of it all, our wellbeing, on the other hand, has taken a heavy back seat. Either from having to physically stay in isolation or from dealing with emotions and feelings we’re not accustomed too. Take this time to add some wellness rituals to your day-to-day life that place your wellbeing in the forefront. For instance, forget the weight loss programs, if cooking is therapeutic; by all means, indulge in it.
- Follow small moments of curiosity
Elizabeth Gilbert once wrote, “Curiosity is, therefore, easier to reach at times than full-on passion – and the stakes are lower, easier to manage. The trick is to just follow your small moments of curiosity.” Use this time to follow curiosity through podcasts, books, and conversations. What’s acting as a real solace during this time? We’re offering LIVE Health and Wellness ritual talks and demonstrations at facebook.com/bellabaciinternational/live for those who are curious.
- When life gives you lemons, make smoothies
Smoothie-making may not be your thing, but in these times it’s most handy. Not only is it quick, which many parents with small kids in lockdown are in desperate need of, but it’s scrumptious. It’ll give you and your family the vitamin boost you need for the day.
- Watch the sunrise
While the days are starting to blur into each other it’s important to start the day with a sense of appreciation for life on earth and the natural environment around us. Watching the sunrise reminds you that you’re human. It’s always beautiful, no matter how small space you’re confined to. Add a cup of hot chocolate and treat yourself to early morning reflections.
Wishing you all a physically and mentally healthy and happy week ahead.
