Most people with varicose veins do not develop complications. Complications of varicose veins develop in a small number of cases. Complications are due to the higher pressure in the varicose veins causing changes to the small blood vessels in nearby skin.
If complications do develop, it is typically several years after the varicose veins first appear. However, it is impossible to predict who will develop complications. The visible size of the varicose veins is not related to whether complications will develop.
Possible complications include:
- Inflammation of the vein (thrombophlebitis).
- Swelling of the foot or lower leg.
- Skin changes over the prominent veins. The possible skin changes are discoloration, varicose eczema, skin ulcers, or lipodermatosclerosis (hardening of the fat layer under the skin, causing areas of thickened, red skin).
- Rarely, varicose veins may bleed.
Promoting Circulation with The Bellabaci Hand-squeezed vacuum suction cups is easy!
Although Cupping Therapy is contra-indicated to use on Varicose Veins, it can be used to drain fluids exerting pressure on the vein by lightly draining next to the vein with a light squeeze of the soft cup. It can also help as a preventative measure where varicose veins have not yet formed as it promotes a healthy circulation, strengthens vein walls and removes fluid build-up causing havoc on the vein valves and resilience.
Cupping is particularly helpful for fast relief from muscle spasms, back pain, sciatica, and arthritic and rheumatic problems. In stimulating the skin and underlying muscles, it promotes the release of toxins that have accumulated in this area, and encourages circulation of both blood and lymph vessels. In addition, it stimulates the organ-related reflex zones in the skin to further improve the function of inner organs, including the liver, stomach, intestines, and kidneys.
Cupping is thought to increase immunity in a particular area since the suction causes the release of a histamine-like substance in the skin which stimulates immune system response. Other detoxification therapies are often used in conjunction to enhance the eliminatory action of cupping. Together, they can be used to treat chronic pain and discomfort relating to these inner organs more successfully, even where other therapies have failed. Cupping can be applied in a wide variety of chronic conditions, from migraines and recurring respiratory problems to stomach spasms and gall-bladder colics. The Bellabaci Cups are hand-squeezed silicone cups that are simple to use and cannot break like their glass predecessors.
To bring relief to Varicose Veins, our experts recommend the Bellabaci Circuflow Genie in a Bottle. This natural and organic oil-lotion can be applied directly on the varicose veins, to bring relief and stimulate strength and repair.
